Credits
This website and the didactic sequence have been built and designed by Jordi Domènech Casal, Science teacher at secondary school in Spain.
This activity is part of the ProyectandoBioGeo science learning activities itinerary.
The Caminalcules Story
The didactic sequence is inspired from an original idea of Joseph H. Camin, who invented these imaginary species as an experiment to test phylogenetic programs.
After this, Caminalcules have been widely used as a didactic tool to study how evolutionary relationships work, and mimic the work of evolutionary biologists (Gendron, 2000; Harris, 2010).
